Raha Ashrafi

Raha Ashrafi is an award winning architect and a founder of Raha Ashrafi Architects. She is a University of Melbourne alumni and also has practiced sustainable and environmental design in the University of Stuttgart, Germany. Raha incorporates generative design strategies to respond to social and environmental factors while encouraging participatory design in creative processes. She has been awarded the WAF, Architizer Award, the American Architecture Prize, the Middle East Architecture Award, and the Memar Award in Iran.
As a senior advisor, since 2018 Raha has been leading studios at TUIC including Urban Garbage, Urban Food, and Urban Agriculture (from the Opportunistic Urbanism series), as well as Deaf-Friendly City (from the Inclusive Urbanism series).
